Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the university had won 25 projects in the national initiative “Graduation Project Alliances – My Project, My Beginning 2026”, organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. The initiative supports innovative graduation projects, transforming them into practical technological solutions and products that connect university education with industry needs and the labor market, while fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
Results showed that 25 projects from Benha University were accepted across different technological tracks, out of a total of 420 projects nationwide. The initiative provides overall funding of 41 million Egyptian pounds, with the participation of 11 partners across 11 emerging technology fields.
Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized that this achievement reflects the university's success in embedding a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, encouraging them to turn their ideas and graduation projects into practical, applicable solutions. He noted that the acceptance of such a significant number of projects in a major national initiative is a clear indicator of the excellence of Benha University students and their ability to compete in modern technological fields.
He added that Benha University continuously strives to develop a stimulating educational and research environment by supporting applied student projects, encouraging interdisciplinary teamwork, and linking students to real challenges facing society and industry. This ensures the graduation of skilled professionals capable of innovation and competitiveness in local, regional, and international labor markets.
Prof. El-Gizawy also highlighted that these results align with Egypt's national direction toward building a knowledge- and technology-based economy, consistent with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt's Vision 2030. He stressed the university's focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, smart manufacturing, robotics, and biotechnology, considering them key pillars of future development.
He clarified that the university will not stop at the acceptance stage but will continue to support student teams and academic supervisors in subsequent phases, following up on promising projects both technically and commercially. This will enhance opportunities to develop them into prototypes, market-ready products, or startups. He praised the efforts of students, supervisors, and participating faculties, as well as the vital role of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in supporting student innovation nationwide.
Meanwhile, prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President of Benha University for Education and Student Affairs, expressed her delight at the university's success in the “My Project, My Beginning” initiative. She affirmed that the acceptance of 25 projects reflects a tangible improvement in the quality of student projects and demonstrates students' ability to deliver innovative solutions in advanced technological fields directly linked to societal and industrial needs.
She explained that the Education and Student Affairs sector places special emphasis on supporting innovation and applied research, encouraging faculties to integrate creativity and entrepreneurship concepts into graduation projects. This transforms projects from mere academic requirements into genuine opportunities to produce technological solutions with added value.
Prof. Abdel Hady added that the coming phase will focus on monitoring these projects and connecting them to technical support, intellectual property protection, marketing, and incubation pathways, in coordination with the relevant faculties. This will maximize the benefits of the initiative's outcomes and help turn promising projects into practical applications that serve society and strengthen the national economy.
She concluded that these results provide strong motivation to continue supporting students and researchers, enhancing collaboration between the university and national innovation-supporting bodies, and building a new generation of graduates capable of meeting future demands and producing technological solutions that advance sustainable development goals.
Prof. Ayman Samir, Advisor to the University President for Innovation Affairs, noted that Benha University's accepted projects were distributed across five main tracks, including 10 projects in the Egypt AI & IoT Challenge, 10 projects in Egypt Makes 2026, and 3 projects in the Deep Technology Challenge.
