Benha University ranks among the top 10 universities in Egypt and makes a global advancement in the US News ranking for 2025-2026.

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the university has advanced 23 international positions, according to the US News ranking for 2025-2026. He pointed out that Benha University is now ranked 550th globally, maintaining its presence among the top 1,000 universities worldwide. Additionally, it ranks 18th in Africa and 10th among both public and private universities in Egypt.

Prof. El-Gizawy noted that the university's improved ranking in global classifications is part of its policy to enhance its research outputs and build the scientific and research capabilities of young researchers. He emphasized that Benha University has made significant and serious strides towards quality and excellence to achieve advanced positions in global rankings, focusing on scientific research, which is one of the essential pillars of university operations and development.

He added that Benha University has joined the list of the best internationally ranked universities in 10 fields, including Mathematics, where the university appears for the first time, ranking among the top 100 universities in this field at 98th place globally, and 330th in Agricultural Sciences.

Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President of the University for postgraduate Studies and Research, stated that the university also appeared in:

  • The Engineering field, ranking 492nd globally,
  • In Chemistry, where it ranked 803rd globally.
  • the 299th position in Energy and Fuels,
  • 323rd in Electrical and Electronic Engineering,
  • 369th in Computer Science.
  • 256th in Plant and Animal Science,
  • 543rd in Materials Science,
  • 645th in Physics.

She pointed out that the US News ranking relies on 13 indicators that measure academic research performance and global and regional reputation. This year, it ranked 2,165 universities from more than 90 countries worldwide.

Among the ranking indicators are:

  • The global and local reputation of the university's scientific research,
  • Published research in internationally classified journals,
  • Books published by global publishers,
  • International conferences,
  • Citation counts,
  • International collaboration,
  • Other indicators that measure the quality of research outputs.

Benha University congratulated all its members and wishes for further progress in various global rankings that the university aims for.
